How to Apply for Lottery

Eagle County Charter Academy is a public school within the Eagle County School District located in Edwards, Colorado. Students gain admission based on a lottery that is held in February for the school year that is immediately following.

The lottery for the 2010-11 school year will be held on February 18, 2010 at Noon in the Kindergarten basement. Any Letters of Intent received after February 17, 2010 by Noon will place your child in the lottery for the 2011 - 2012 school year.

How to place your child in the lottery:

A parent or legal guardian must submit a Letter of Intent to ECCA.

Letters of Intent that aren't submitted electronically can be hand delivered to the office, faxed to 970-926-0786, mailed to Post Office Box 169, Wolcott, CO 81655 or sent via UPS/FedEx to 1105 Miller Ranch Road, Edwards, CO 81632.

A Letter of Intent can be submitted as early as a child's third birthday. All Letters of Intent must be received by the ECCA Office before Noon on the day BEFORE the lottery is held.

How do lottery numbers work?

Children receive a lottery number during the year in which they are eligible for Kindergarten. They remain on the lottery list and receive a new lottery number every year until a parent or guardian asks to remove the child from the list or until the child is enrolled at ECCA.

Does ECCA still use a waitlist for admission?
The lottery system replaced enrollment based on a waitlist that was in place until November, 2001.
